Could anybody who has experience with "panic or anxiety attacks" please describe what they are like?
I am having a difficult time understanding this.
I have heard that some people cant even leave far from home because they are afraid of having another "panic attack".
Please anyone who has experience with this condition, would you please desribe them for me?

Mine come out of the blue. My heart races. I feel like I am having a heart attack. Sometimes my hands and face (expecially around my mouth) get a numbness. I feel like everything is closing in on me. I feel like I will "loose it". I feel like I am dying. I don’t like being in stores or in large crowds. When I am I feel like I am "out of my body" and feel like I could loose control. Freaky and weird.

Xanax is highly addictive. See your physician first and find out what exactly the crisis is that precipitates it.
Your doctor will need to rule out cardiac issues so get seen. If you are on any meds like anti-histamines, they too sometimes contain stimulants so be careful. Get seen.
It may help too if you can cut out things in your diet with caffiene, as caffiene is a stimulant and it sounds like that’s the last thing you need: No diet pills, coffee, chocolate soda or caffienated teas for a start.

How do you cure anxiety… *instantly*!?
I’ve found lots of answers on how to relieve anxiety and and stress, but is there any known way to INSTANTLY stop an anxiety attack, like right then and there?
Like if you’re waiting just before a job interview, and you start to get nervous and your heart starts to beat fast, is there anyway to instantly calm down before you walk in the interviewer’s door?

deep slow breathing and positive thinking at the same time, such as what a great person you really are, and how people (I am sure there are some?) really like you for some of your qualities, and what you did that was good at some of your other jobs. Also, if no one is looking, some not too noticeable stretching. Make sure you haven’t had too much caffeine that morning. Cammomile tea?? The best thing for an interview is to make sure you are prepared, and then you have nothing to be anxious about! Also, don’t be afraid to accept the fact that you are a human being and you have a perfect right to be nervous at times. People that are too smooth and charming when it is not appropriate are kind of annoying anyway, I find! So what if you appear a little nervous – it just makes you part of the human race in the end.
One more thing – try this – splash your face with cold water for the heart beat thing if it doesn’t slow down. I was told this by a heart specialist,when my heart wouldn’t slow down one time. It might help and it certainly wouldn’t hurt.
